There still does't seem to be much online regarding this..
I hear some people need to start replacing parts at 20k miles...
I hear others say that it should be fine up to 50k miles.

I haven't really heard many of us go over about 18 to 20k miles...

I am on about 17k at the moment, and will probably hit around 20k before the summer.
Which means by the end of the summer I will be beyond the known :p

Anyone have any idea what mileage our bikes last?
What mileage are you on?
Like I said, I am on 17 ish thousand, and am yet to have any issues with the engine.
ANd I trash it a lot.

nearing 15k now, no massive issues that couldn't have been prevented via proper maintenance.

Oh yeah, I service it!

Oil + filter every 2,000 miles.
Air filter whenever I can be bothered to clean it.
Reguarly put WD40 in the locks, and stuff like that.
Regular chain lubing...

That is about it really :)
Other than just generally cleaning etc.

Don't the piston rings or something need cleaning sometime around the 20k mark?

I don't know...
Dunkirk had to replace SOMETHING at 20k miles, which cost him a fair bit of money :S

Don't put too much stuff in locks (wheter it's WD40, Grease, or ACF-50), as over time, it becomes REALLY REALLY thick, and can make the lock in-operable!

Trust me, I speek from experience!

bought the cbr at 8700 miles 1st feb, now its like 9750 miles :p.
I know the valves on the cbr need attention after 16k, about 500 quid from a Honda garage.
plus in the manual it goes on about all the things that need replacing like brake fluid after 12k and loads of other little snags
