Dealers always seem to price the yellow colours higher for some reason..:headscratch: its not a limited edition as far as im aware but im not complaining... just means i can sell mine for more then someone who has a blue 08 :)
A lot of Yellows I've seen have been advertised as Limited Edition, it pretty much is as they were stopped after 08, whereas some other colours were produced across a couple of years.
I wonder which came first, the yellow or black and silver?

Yup, the Yellow and Black R125's tend to command a higher premium purely on account of their distinctive and rare colour. They were produced only in 2008. That seems to have endowed them with the accolade "Limited Edition". Because they do stand out I suppose, and there aren't many of them about. I recently saw a yellow 08 R125 with about 6000+ miles on the clock going for £3,250 at a dealers!

I wonder what I'd get for my unmolested stock 58 plate R125 Wasp with its Yamaha crash protection bungs, yellow rear seat cover, DataTool S4 Alarm, DataTagged, and with only 1,019 very carefully run in miles on the clock? ;-)

When my bike was surveyed by the insurance company after an accident, i used two ads to prove my point about the yellows being of greater value then they were offering me...

1st one had 14000miles on the clock and was advertised at £2999, and the second one with 18000miles on the clock at £2799
i managed to get them to bump the price up abit but its shocking that these bikes were £3300ish brand new and then after racking up those type of miles they still hold their value

I got 9100+ on the clock now. I got it at 7700 so not to bad. Is there a major service at 10k needed btw?
According to the manual, it is just a regular service and it's at 10,500 that it is due.

In fact, it should have had a little more done at 7, 000 miles than will be due at 10,500. Like the air filter replaced as opposed to just cleaned and the rear suspention relay arm and connecting arm pivoting points should have been greased at 7,000.

Depending on the age of your bike. Cooling system change every 3 years, brake hoses replacing every 4 years. Other things that'll differ in future from the normal service checks are your swing arm and sreering bearings will need lubricating at 14,000 miles.

Obviously, some parts may wear and need replacing due to wear and tear, like brake pads, tyres, chain and sprockets for example.

Thanks Mak. When I bought mine, they were actually being sold for £2,999...!!! That makes it all the more amazing. I've decided to sell mine as I can no longer afford to keep it and my health dictates that I'd live much longer in a car than on this lovely bike. IF I can get a new job in the next 3 months, I might change my mind - I still love it to bits and cannot bear to part with it to be honest. If I do sell it, a part of me will ALWAYS regret having done that :-(

thats what i mean lol the bike will still sell for £2500 easy
maybe even more coz yours has like hardly a single mile on the clock lol
its not officially recognised as a limited edition but i think it should be due to the short time period and numbers produced
iv agreed a sale price for mine which come to think of it is very very low looking at what some of the others are going for now
young lad offered me £1600 for mine and iv accepted his offer. the bike is however a cat c insurance write off which i have spent alot of time and money fixing but it makes me sad to know shes going to some1 esle... =(

I sure hope you do find another job though firefly! it would be a shame for you to sell, seeing as you take such good care of it. new owner would more likely then not mistreat the bike  plus when i joined the first yamaha r125 forum soo many years ago you was the only other yellow r125 owner registered! best of luck with the job search mate! im sure im not the only one hoping you get one quick =)
