hi i was wondering if i need full harness or just some to get a yamaha r125 engine to start, it is currently in yamaha yzf r but i am going to build a gokart out off it and i need to buy new harness do somebody know what i spesificly need for a engine to start

you can probably do without the headlight loom, though i don't remember if that tied into the speed sensor - but you may not be using the speedo on on a gokart anyway.

IIrc most of the loom comes as one piece so whilst you could certainly strip things like indicators and stuff off it, you'd possibly have to unwrap the loom and just remove the individual sections of cable. I don't think there's really much you can unplug in terms of whole "sections"/sub-looms (like you'd have on a car) apart from the headlight loom.

In terms of the exact sensors and switches needed to make it start, have a look for the service manual. There's a diagram in the back on page 8-7 which ought to help you debug the starting circuit.
