Looking at this months report... wow.

- We have managed to increase our traffic flow massively. This month past (which is still only our first full month),received 1,500 different visitors, equalling a massive 4,000 visits. Not page views... Visits.
If we take the daily average of 25 members online each day. And say that each of those members visits the site twice a day. (once at work, and once again at home perhaps...). That accounts for 50, at most 100 of the visits per day. that still leaves somewhere in the region of 50-100 non registered visits per day.

- The number of users active per day, has doubled since the site first started not much over a month ago. We now have on average, somewhere between 20 and 26 users logging in each day.

- Average of 200 posts a day, which remains steady since the start of the site. An average of 20 post likes a day, which is an increase.

- Still only 7 or 8 new threads a day, a figure which could really do with being increased, as this is what holds people on the site and will also help to drive new traffic in. This figure is actually slightly lower than it was when we started, but this can be expected. It was massively high to begin with, it is now settling down, and should hopefully pick up soon.

- We are now starting to get a whole load of traffic from Google and other search engines, for a wide variety of search terms. These search terms can be seen at the bottom of every page, where applicable.

A quick note about Google though. I was on the net at college and for the life of me couldn't remember the URL and did a standard search "Yamaha YZF R125 Forum" and this forum didn't even show up on the first page. And when it showed up on page 2, it wasn't a direct link, it was a link to a current thread. Maybe something that can improve the traffic.

It takes time....

try just R125 forum in future... It normally comes up about third I think.

Obviously that would help, but what about people that don't know about the site?

If we can get people stumbling across it with a wider variety of searches it may help.

Of course.
But like I say, THAT is what takes time...

This is why content is important!

Every post you make, every guide, every product review, etc.
Will all eventually get indexed to google.

Maybe so but the fact that the home page doesn't even pop up on google with that search is possibly affecting some traffic flow.

I've done a few small websites, that have astronomically less traffic than this site and all the searches i can think of have went into Google and they still come up on page 1.

Okay, I just made a few changes. Turns out I didn't have any Meta Keywords. That shouldn't make a HUGE difference...
But we shall see :)

Give it a few days, and they will take effect...

Meta tags should make a difference.

Meta tags should make a difference.
Well, you would think so.

Google is VERY clever, and takes a lot more in to account.
FAR more important factors, are back-links, keywords within your CONTENT (especially in the thread titles), and more back-links :p

Thats if you search for something specific, like 'R125 Froum'. What i'm saying is when you are not so specific in your search i.e. if you do a generic 'Yamaha YZF R125' search it doesn't come up on the first page. Not everyone who's searching for this is going to know what to search for.
