Right guys, I'm currently in the process of taking all the panels off my R125 and cutting some heavy excess useless things off the bike. Including some heavy brackets and so on.

Has any one done the same and any one know some good tips to make it lighter? Besides taking the fairing off!

May I ask why would you would like to do that it's already light :)
I imagine, any weight lost from removing panels will be counteracted in the loss in aerodynamics...

You could replace all the bolts with titanium ones.
Aftermarket exhaust.
Carbon fibre parts?
Remove the engine air bypass valve and related tubing...

err...
Benji is the expert here ;)

Its not light for a 125! It weighs in at 126.50KG! A R6 is only 163KG. I'm not taking the panels off but i will consider replacing a few bolts with ti ones.
I will slowly save up for a akra pipe, and I would love to get more carbon for this bike but the only carbon for sale is for the panels. I can buy a sheet of carbon and cut it to any shape (My dad does it as a business) Any idea of what I could replace on the bike with carbon :) ? Also I drilled 3 holes in my brake and clutch leaver saw some of the motogp bikes had little cut outs there so thought id go ahead and try do the same, every little helps!

Ahhh, I wonder if I can find the post...
There was someone on the old forum who started drilling holes in their bike.
It got pretty insane by the end, huge bits of yoke missing, all sorts o_O
Just don't go too crazy! In the end the bike needs to be strong!

I respect the ideas an dedication, but some of the things he did were needlessly extreme...
I have to say I like the new front end, mirrors sticker and that cutout for the ram air made it look just like an RSV4 :p
But yeah, drilling important parts for a weight saving was a little crazy...
As was cutting off parts of the brake disc.

And yeah Jason, I want that sticker too! :D

lol i think its a matter of opinion. to some it looks amazing to others its disgusting but each to their own and people shud respect the fact that he did something others haven't and its how he wanted it to look.
