After a while looking for touch up paint, or indeed any paint for my bike, I thought it was non-existant!

For my Sunset Red R125, I was told by Yamaha, that the paint was 3M Yellowish Red, which, it turns out, 3M doesn't make!

Then I got the paint code 'VYR1', which no one makes!

However, Fisher told me about this site *clicky*, which seems to stock this colour.

They seem to stock most R125 colours too! *clicky* Hope this helps some of you guys!

I havn't ordered from them yet, so not sure about how well the colours match, but Fisher said they were good, so why not give them a try?

Yeah, I used these people when I re-sprayed my bike.
The white I used on my Red & White bike was a spot on match!

They mix paint to order, so I reckon most colours should be fine.

Their customer service is great too!

Note: I used the rattle cans, so cannot comment on the spray gun paint.

How many cans did you need/ use? (Also might be worth knowing how much of your bike you painted too! lol)

I painted the entire bike!

I would say...

both boomerangs = 1 can
nose cone = 1 can
tank = 1 can
rear panels = 1 can.

Obviously, that is a tad excessive, and realistically you could get away with less cans, but it's better to be safe than sorry.
MOST IMPORTANTLY, you need A LOT of laquer. You need roughly 2 cans of laquer for every can of paint.

You could do the entire bike with 2 cans of paint if you really wanted, but ideally 3 cans would be best.

As for primer, it all depends on the primer you are using, and the state that your panels are in.

Only £16 per colour...
The aerosoles aren't for touching up, rather are for spraying entire panels.

I think that is a perfectly reasonable price!

So does that not mean that you could spray the entire panel for less than the cost of the touch up kit??

What are you on???

Aerosole = £15 x 2 = £30
Touch up = £8 x 2 = £16.
(x 2 for laquer).

If you do end up buying Rob, I'd love to know how the colour match is.
There's a couple of bits and bobs on mine that could do with redoing.

I'm high on math!

You see fisher,

The paint is £8, so 1 X £8 = £8

The laquer is also £8, so 2 X £8 = £16

If the tax is £4.50, and shipping is £6.50, what do we have all together?

That's £16 + £4.50 + £6.50, which equals £27, which is almost £30.

If you got it right, give yourself a gold star, and you might even have enough money left from £30 to buy yourself a mars bar! :p

hahaha

Yeah, I'm still thinking about it, but red is pretty difficult to colour match!
