In an attempt to make certain pages load faster...
I am now compressing all attached images so that they are lower resolution.

If I break your image, or you wish to have it restored to former glory, then please simply hit the report button on the post, and I will fix it for you :)

Sorry if this causes any inconvenience.
I am looking to create an option to compress the images yourself, but in the meanwhile I will do it myself.

Does this mean that my images will stop coming up massive? Will the quality be worse?

Sent from my iPhone using Forum Runner
Quality will be the same, just smaller.

Yes, your photos will stop being massive, they will only be about 1,000 pixels wide, which on a 22" monitor is about... 2/3 of the width.
On a 15" monitor, like a laptop, that is almost the entire width of the screen.

This is taking me longer than I thought...

I forgot that the files aren't actually stored as images on the server, meaning I can't simply download, resize, and upload.
I need something that can actually read the .data files

I will get back to you :p

The EASIEST thing, is for people to simply resize them before uploading.

Yahoo has a thing called smush.it which is brilliant!

Well, just resizing your images to say.... 1000px x 1000px would be ideal.
I was probably just going to resize them all the 1500 along the longest edge...

But seriously, check out that yahoo resizer as well, that compresses images really well supposedly...
