Not entirely sure, but it sounds like the side stand potentially comes off or something :S

If someone wanted to know the numbers, they could just walk up to his bike and take their own photo?

im sure if they side stands are gunna fall off on a 2008,2009,20010 they would of done so by now!

The recall is normally a 'extreme case scenario'.

meaning, that there is only a CHANCE that your sidestand is dodgy. Perhaps maybe only 1 in 100 of the recalled sidestands are actually faulty.
They don't know which ones they are, so they recall the entire batch.

Chances are your will be fine.
Best best is probably to phone your local dealer, and just ask?

That is what I am going to do...

no chance, 1 in 100 would take longer than this to be recalled. a couple have gone, more than they'd like, so they've decided to fit new ones for everyone. i'll be ringing Yamaha tomorrow, i got my letter with my sprocket from the postman.
