I have the Yamaha yzf r125 2015 in gray and black. One of My sidepanels got damaged in the garage and I would like to repair it myself, as it is an easy job. The side panel in question is Matt black like the rest of the outer shell panels on the bike. But to be able to repair it I would need to know that color code. I have really looked all over the internet but I can’t find it. Do some of you know what the color code is? Or where to find it?

any auto paint supplier will likely be able to match the paint colour for you and most will even put 2k paint (the good stuff rather than what's in cans normally) into spray cans so you kinda get the best of both worlds - i.e. 2k finish but without having the hassle of mixing/hardeners.

Failing that maybe your local yamaha dealer might know? though that could be a long shot lol.

That being said - like pretty much every vehicle your bike will have been painted with 2k (2 komponent - paint + hardener) paints which don't so much dry as "set"/harden due to a chemical reaction - like how fibreglass or expoxy sets.

You can do a decent job with cans and achieve a reasonable finish (if you do your prep correctly), and matte black is normally a pretty easy colour to get right, but be warned the finish from cans will be nowhere near as hard-wearing as the 2k paint job (since it's much thinner), so your can-painted panel will age/wear at a different rate from the others.
