I have a massive (I assume...) screw in my rear tyre.
Went to ride home from college, and my bike had become stupidly difficult to push.

My tyre was SO flat, I could squash it in with just my thumb.

Thinking of getting my Mother to bring my cover, and pick me up.
Leave it there overnight, and get it plugged tomorrow I guess?

Cannot afford a new tyre now, at LEAST until the end of the month.
Definately cannot afford two tyres.

I know they say it isn't good, but I am thinking... get my new rear tyre (BT023) and then when I CAN, replace the (Dunlop sportmax qualifier) to match.

I realllllly hate having a plug though... it was bad enough on my R125 at (relatively lower) speeds...
I do a LOT of motorway miles. 90 per day to be precise. Every day on a plug will make me soso tense ><

INTERESTINGLY.

I don't even KNOW that there isn't already a plug in my tyre...
For all I know there could be! I haven't checked personally...

No idea man!
For the rear tyre alone... about £110 + fitting.
Front is more...

A plug I think I can get done, at a guess for £20.

I honestly don't know when I can pay them back though... I wouldn't be comfortable saying I could definately pay them back at the end of the month.
I should be able to. But I wouldn't want to say for sure...

Rear wheel is £135 fitted.
And then the challenge lies in getting the wheel from the bike, located at work, to the garage.

I have never removed or fitted a wheel before. I avoid it at all costs, as I am scared of messing up the alignment, or over or under tightening.

Front wheel will be £110. But I shall have to wait a week, or two, or whatever until I find more money for that :S

If you need someone to sit and look after your bike whilst you get it sorted I will....

I'd like to see someone nick a bike with only one wheel.
They would be more likely to steal it tonight if anything... Sure it will be fine...

Tom, what sockets do you have in Winch?
If I don't find a 27mm socket downstairs, are you likely to have one?

Day for problems Cam, I've cracked my radiator, new one is looking like £600 but am contacting some rad specialists tomorrow to see about a repair, and what options are available.

If you can get the pair, they are designed as a pair, and not running a pair might cause you insurance issues should the worst happen.

Eh, I know =/
But I really cannot afford the pair! :(

I will be buying the matching tyre hopefully in a week or so...
I'm (or rather my mother) is taking an advance on one of my lodger's rent for this tyre as it is.
Lucky for us, we have quite understanding lodger's :S

Do you not have breakdown cover ? If you do, use that, they should be able to plug it. Failing that, £20 should buy you a plugging kit, there are plenty of youtube video's showing how to fit them. You could use that to plug the tyre and then if you don't like the idea of plugs, ride it somewhere carefully to get the new tyres fitted.

Personally as I stated in anoter thread, I have no problems with plugs having done my last rear tyre after a nail found its way in there. You can fit the plug without removing the rear wheel as well and if you don't have a pump or compressor to hand, the little CO2 cartridges will inflate it to a ridable pressure.

Like you said, you don't even know if there isn't already a plug in the tyre, but its not stopped you riding on it, and having a plug fail is no different to picking up another puncture anyway.

Right, so... I got a lift home last night.
Singed up to the AA.
Got a lift back to my bike this morning.
AA man fitted a plug, and inflated my tyre.

I then rode carefully to a tyre place, where I got two nice new shiny (VERY shiny :S ) BT023 fitted.
You do NOT want to know what I had to do to get the money ^^
