And you can wash and use them again
The K&N air filters are re-washable and should last the lifetime of the bike, I have been told by the father in law that depending on what bike you have, you can get anywhere between 3 - 10 bhp if you fit one!!

Bmc you can wash them and re oil them
You will probable need to adjust the fuel-air mixture with one of these fitted... otherwise it might run rough!

3 to 10 HP?!

Never on a R125. Not even if you filled up with rocket fuel. ;)

Just so you know josh, you can get the K&N Panel Air Filter and the K&N Oil Filter together including postage to your door for £40! :D

Bargain! That's what I'm getting this week or next. Heres the link: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yamaha-20...97?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item46097519dd
With the K&N air filter, you don't have to clean it and re-grease it until I think it is 50,000/100,000 miles. I've got the recharge kit for mine and it says I don't need to use it until then.

How many uses can you get out of the recharge kit?

That's true. The oil lasts 50,000 miles. And the filter over all has a lifetime warranty or a million miles!

Perhaps bikerboy is re-oiling his everytime he services because he washes the filter?

But if you go with K&N's service procedure, you don't need to wash it till 50,000 miles. :D

That’s a 20 to 67% increase in power.. from an air filter 😂
Simota here

I think it´s always a question how the standard filter / filter housing is designed. Everything is possible from power loss to power gain. It´s hard to predict.
When you look at the stock filter of the RE39 / RE40 model, you can ask yourself why they don´t use the complete area available? I think it´s simply due to cost, as it is cheaper having rectangular shaped paper / mesh element (K&N does the same) than a trapezoidal one like BMC is using.

I have the simota one
Simota offers only for the 2008-15 models an air filter, not for the RE39/RE40.
