Hi, fitted my Angel Eyes today, but since I was a bit annoyed, I forgot to take many pictures :( But I shall non the less write you through fitting them! :)

1. The first thing you need to do is remove the headlights from the bike. You will do this by removing the front fairing.

2. Now you have both headlights, NO BULBS should be in them. You should also remove all clips and the small plastic thingys next to the sidelight holes :)

3. Now you should have two headlights, with JUST 3 screws on the back. Everything else should be removed (that can be removed)

4. Pre-heat your oven to 80° celsius.

5. If you have an oven with a rack. Put two layers of aluminium foil over it to protect the headlights. Put the rack in the middle of the oven.

6. When the oven is at 80° put ONE headlight onto the rack. Leave it there for 13 minutes :)

7. When taking it out. Start prying the lens apart with a flathead screwdriver. TAKE IT SLOW!

8. It will take time, and you will have to get the screwdriver down all the way to be able to get a grip of the edge of the lens.
I know it may sound weird, but you might have to force it. The "glue" between the lens and the headlight won't be so soft that you can pull it apart easily.

9. Take care NOT to damage the fastenings (I have no idea what to call them lol)

10 When you've got the lens loose, you should be able to pull it apart by hand.

11. It should now look like this:

The hard part is over! :)

12. You now can mount the angel eye rings :) I use these :http://www.diodedynamics.com/store/index.php/smd-angel-eye-diy-kit.html in 50mm size multicolor.

13. I had to mount them with something, and I opted to use doublesided tape. It might sound stupid and like it'll fall off, but I hope it won't ;)

14. I made the tape like a ring, shaped exactly like the angel eye. I just stuck this to the back of the angel eye.

15. The ring now goes AROUND the headlight hole. Otherwise you'll block it (like you couldn't guess ;) )

16. You need to direct the cables somewhere. The rings i use, uses a flat cable, and I taped this with doublesided tape straight up the reflector. Yes you heard me right, I taped the cable on the reflector, I didn't want to cut a hole in it. (But you can do that too ofc :) )

17. You're almost done. Just press the headlight together so it looks like it's totally sealed.

18. Throw it back into the oven at 80-90° celsius. Leave it for 7-10 minutes.

19. When taking it out, gently press it together and wait for it to cool off. It might take a while.

20 You're done!

You might want to seal the headlight in another way. Some use butyl tape.
What you do then is to strip all the old sealant off the lens and the headlight and place the new tape there.

I found that reusing the old one worked fine, at least for me. I haven't tested it in rain yet, so might have to run a silicone seal along the edge for water resistance.

Now here's the result! :)

You need run the wiring to the headlights too, but that SHOULD be pretty straight forward... If not, I will supply a wiring diagram for the relay version I used:

Done!

Any questions can be asked here in this thread and I'll try to answer them ASAP :)

Amazing, so when next time you coming to London .. ? I want to get em too
Lol, well it's going to be a while ;) I suggest doing the thing I did, look at loads of videos on YouTube on how to open headlights using an oven... But don't listen to the temperatures they use... Our headlights melt if you use that high!!! 80-90 is good :)

I would also recommend replacing all the sealant, but it's not necessary :)

For gas ovens, people who live in the past ;)
Oh, well if you heat it in 135 degrees it WILL MELT! Trust me, My highbeam started to! So some mounts are slightly disfigured and ugly lol ;) nothing you can see when looking at it though ;)

That is my point! The lowest setting on a gas oven may not be low enough....

What? gas ovens are best. None of this pre-heat malarky.
Just turn it on, and whack it in I say.
They are best, but old fashioned! The best things still around today are old..
cars, music, people.. eras where things were made lovingly, and not mass produced as cost effectively as possible.

We live in a world where new commodities are made at low cost and low quality, people don't take the time to hand make things anymore and would rather make something with low quality, that is cheap to produce and with a high profit margin and selling high volumes of :(. its a shame

Have you been stopped by the PO PO yet?
Nope, can't ride atm... As it's -10° here, and loads of ice on the roads... Will have to wait until the ice clears :(

I could get away with being a PO PO with them in rapid flashing mode lol I'd could be Moses...on a bike!

Looks really good Oskar I'm loving it, I have a aesthetic question tho, our bikes when on the move have a single headlight on yeah? How does that effect the whole look of the eyes?
