Noticed especially recently my jacket needs a wash but I don't wanna wash it normally and lose the waterproofness. So what products/techniques would you guys recommend?

Suppose it differs by make of jacket. Now I could be wrong but usually there is a tag inside. On it there are some kind of washing instructions usually written in a code that can only be understood by someone qualified to drive a washing machine.

Make sure you give it to someone qualified who you trust, I did with my RST on a few occasions, no problems to date.

My Duke of Edinburgh leaders tell me to wash all their hiking gear with Non Biological washing powder.
Apparently that is what you are supposed to wash waterproof stuff with...

I would be tempted to simply run it through a water only wash if im honest with you as my gear doesn't really get all that dirty / sweaty as I wear clothes under every layer.
And I would also get some kind of waterproofing spray to put on afterwards maybe?

was at my local bike garage today get my pirellis fitted :D and while waiting in the shop had a look round and saw this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/STORM-WAS...169?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2314c889d9 ask the guy if it works and he said 'we only sell stuff that works, not the cheap nasty shite' cost £11.99 in the shop for the pair, ones to wash it and the other is to re-waterproof it. all in one wash too, put the wash stuff in the normal detergent compartment and the water proofing stuff in the conditioner part so it washes it seperately :) need my textiles washing soon so gonna get some and give it a go :D ohh and that price in the shop was one that is for 4 washes not just one :p
